• Santander rises six places compared to the 2017 ranking, its best result to date.
• The DJSI World and DJSI Europe gave the highest possible score (100) to Santander’s financial inclusion, energy efficiency and other important aspects of the bank’s sustainability management.

The entire retail network of Bank Zachodni WBK and its banking and customer service channels and partner outlets, including its webpage and ATMs, changed to the Santander brand.

Openbank launches an automated investment service (robo-advisor) and presents its new developments and features

Openbank, the Santander Group's 100% digital bank, presents its new developments and features resulting from its vision today of the bank of the future. These new developments, presented at the Openbank Media Day 2018, are now available to all customers and include the launch of the first automated investment by objectives system with micro-investing. This service will allow customers to maximise the value of their savings from a minimum of 500 euros. Along with this feature, Openbank is also launching a password and data manager that stores each customer's passwords using the strictest security standards, as well as a card and device management system.

The Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities, Banco Santander and the Conference of Rectors of Spanish Universities (CRUE) launch the Santander Erasmus Scholarship Programme

• The minister of Science, Innovation and Universities, Pedro Duque; Santander Group executive chairman, Ana Botín; and the president of the Conference of Rectors of Spanish Universities (CRUE), Roberto Fernández, signed an agreement to launch the “Becas Santander Erasmus” scholarship programme, which aims to acknowledge the academic excellence of Erasmus+ students and encourage educational inclusion and equal opportunities.
• In this first edition, Santander will invest close to EUR 2 million (EUR 1,936,400). It will offer 2,152 scholarships of EUR 3,200 and EUR 500, and 3,000 grants of EUR 150, to young people wishing to study at any educational centre in the European Union or perform international internships.
